The coasts and beaches of Sardinia
It is no coincidence that Sardinia is now the preferred destination for many tourists: the sea is one of the most transparent you can see in the world, and one of the most renowned for the beauty of the beaches and coastlines, in large part by 'still looks wild and unspoiled.
The great variety of geological substrate gives rise to different landscapes, but always delightful: cliffs, bays wide with long stretches of fine sand, small coves hidden between magnificent cliffs and beautiful seascapes. The coast North is extremely varied from the geological and morphological. The Sardinian coast, characterized by countless bays and beaches, is home to the famous Costa Smeralda and is one of the most frequented by tourists. Further south the coast begins to Olbia and, filled with beaches of San Teodoro.
After the low, sandy coasts of Posada, and Siniscola Orosei, begins the spectacular limestone coast of the Gulf of Orosei, the most pristine of Sardinia. This area is much frequented by tourists attracted by the cave of Bue Marine environment and especially from the beautiful beaches of Cala Luna and Cala Mariolu. Going south you encounter cliffs that alternate with sandy beaches, up to the beautiful Costa Rei.
The south coast is characterized by the splendid coast of Villasimius, followed From the Gulf of Cagliari with long sandy beaches Poetto, and from the beautiful South Coast, full of beautiful sandy beaches.
The west coast is mainly steep and high, except into the Gulf of Oristano. Among the most spectacular locations are numbered from the cliffs dell'iglesiente and the Costa Verde, with its splendid Marina di Arbus, the limestone coast of the Peninsula of Sinis, the coasts of Cuglieri dell'Argentiera and the coast. A peculiarity of the southwestern coast is the presence of the mistral wind, which sometimes form at the back of the beach sand dunes among the highest in Europe, as a Piscinas.
